HILL’S HISTORIC VICTORY AFTER BANNER BLOWS IT

Richard Hill/Pat Cooper (Ford Escort ) emerged as surprise winners of the Pirelli Richard Burns Foundation Rallies Historic Module after day long leaders Steve Bannister/ Louise Sutherland's Ford Escort ground to a halt on the event's final stage, Hill won by the slenderest of margins, finishing a mere 0.4 seconds ahead of the Escort of David Stokes/ Guy Weaver with Gareth James/ Stefan Evans a further 22 seconds back in third place.
